More than 30 years ago, Everett Library Historians David Dilgard and Margaret Riddle interviewed Everett pioneers about their lives and experiences in early Everett. These pioneers have died, but their memories live on in 10- to 30-minute downloadable audio files called the “Everett Voices” podcasts.

There are 12 podcasts in the series, covering a diverse range of historical topics: the big snow of 1916, Everett High School football, the Snohomish County Courthouse fire of 1909, circuses, firefighting, schools, baseball, transportation, prostitution, prohibition, mill accidents, and the Great Depression. The recordings feature music, sound effects and narration to bring the history of Everett to life for 21st century listeners.

“Everett Voices” podcasts can be downloaded for free from the Everett Public Library website at www.epls.org/podcast.
